Party Poker Tournaments

As a poker lover, you most likely love the thrill of playing against other poker players in a tournament. Of course, the possibility of winning a few hundred or even a few hundred thousand dollars from a tournament doesn’t hurt either!

At Party Poker, you will find plenty of opportunities to participate in tournament poker games. In fact, party poker offers more tournaments than any other online poker site. In addition, the site maintains that it offers the biggest pools to be found online. Therefore, it is a great place to go if you want to really be a part of the tournament action.

Online Poker Tournaments

Just as with a non-virtual poker tournament, each player receives the same number of chips when the tournament begins. Then, the game play continues until just one player has all of the chips on the table. In order to participate in these tournaments and to receive your starting chips, you will need to pay the buy-in amount as well as the fee. The buy-in is placed in the prize pool while the fee is paid to PartyPoker.net. Since the buy-in is what funds the pool, the size of the pool will depend upon the number of people playing in the tournament. Regardless of the number of people, the entire amount contributed through the buy-in is paid to the tournament winner.

Types of Party Poker.net Tournaments

On PartyPoker.net, you will be able to choose from between two different types of tournaments. The first type of tournament is the Scheduled tournament. These tournaments are announced ahead of time and anyone interested in participating must register by a certain date.

The other type of tournament is the Sit & Go. These tournaments are available at any time and begin as soon as a specific number of players has entered the tournament. The players at Table Sit & Go tournaments are able to choose their seats on a first-come basis. Players at Multi-table Sit & Go tournaments, on the other hand, are randomly seated.

On some Multi-table Scheduled tournaments, late registrations are allowed. Late registrations are no longer allowed, however, after the first level of the tournament has been finished. In addition, if all seats are filled or if one of the players has been eliminated, players can no longer complete a late registration.

It is also possible to unregister from tournaments, though certain restrictions do apply. For example, you can unregister from a Sit & Go so long as all of the seats have not been filled yet. You can also unregistered from a Scheduled tournament all the way up until 15 minutes before the tournament begins. If you register for the tournament with less than 15 minutes before the start time, you will not be able to unregister at all.

Party Poker tournaments allow you to pit your skills against multiple players from around the world, which is something that would likely be impossible for you to do if you did not have the Internet making it possible for you.
